Volunteer Opportunities
We are always looking for volunteers to provide extra help. Without our dependable and talented volunteers, we could not be the vibrant, active Senior Center that we are today.
See our current opportunities below. If you are interested in donating your time as a volunteer, you can complete our form or call our office at 717-533-2002.
Volunteer Class Instructors
If you, or someone you know, is interested in volunteering their time and expertise as a volunteer instructor, we’d love to hear from you. You can see our current programs here.
Knitters and Crocheters
are tirelessly creating items, both for the Leader Center for Active Life and for charities in need. Recently, they created 140 hats for a charity aimed at keeping underprivileged children warm.
Seamstresses
work hard to create stuffed dolls and bears to donate to the children staying at the Children’s Hospital in Hershey.
Monthly Social Volunteers
help us on a rotating schedule on the third Friday of each month. We have many different needs on this day, such as helping to set up, greeting, preparing food, waitressing, and cleaning up.
Front Desk Receptionists
Special Event Committee Members
are made up of many people in various capacities, depending on the special project we are promoting. Past committees have included 50s dances, long-range planning, growth, community outreach, and many more.
Board of Directors
is an all-volunteer organization that is elected annually. The Board meets once a month to discuss center operations and make decisions based on center needs. The Board of Directors consists of 16 men and women who have a passion for success at the Leader Center for Active Life.
